Industry closing warnings.

Post by mauried »

Currently when an Industry is planning on closing, you get 2 warnings usually at 24 months and 12 months, but the warnings are via the News advisor and are easily missed if the news is set to summary and not to full.
The 3rd warning is when the Industry is very close to closing, usually when its too late and this warning comes from the News but also the Industry now provides a permanent warning if you click on the industry.
Would it be possible to add the 24 month and 12 month warnings to the industry itself like the final warning, so that if you miss the news warnings you can still find out just by clicking on the industry.
This solves a annoying problem of building stations near an industry , adding vehicles and building tracks or roads, and then the industry announces imminent closure.
It also solves the problem of being offered a subsidy where the subsidy is carrying stuff from an industry which has previously announced closure, and the industry closes just at the beginning of the subsidy.

This sounds like you're using a particular NewGRF, rather than the default industries. Adding more information to the industry window would be a function of that NewGRF.

Thanks, Im using a range of the ECS industries. Agriculture,Basic vector,Chemicals,Construction,Houses,Machinery and Wood.
I wasnt aware that the warning messages were a function of the particular ECS GRF.
Makes sense though.
