Too many stations
Too many stations
Has anyone ever worked out how to get around the problem of too many stations. I want to run more trains. How ever TTD wont allow anymore stations to be built.

if it is not at http://www.ttdpatch.net/src/todonow.txt then it is impossible
what are you looking at? it's a signature!
I've never hit the limit. The only way that I can think of reaching it is
a.) play with a LOT of AI competitors, which I don't think is fun because they make such a horrible mess of the map
b.) use 6 stations clustered around an industry where 1 big one will do. Remember that the Patch now lets you make really big stations, with up to 15 tracks, which ought to be enough for any reasonable need.

If you build your route with care, you don't have to use too many checkpoints. Also you can use depots as checkpoints, I don't think they count.

Yeah, but I wanted to build realistic tracks. But the trains didn't drive the optimized path. And I don't like every train going through a depot, that makes them slow and looks ugly.krtaylor wrote:If you build your route with care, you don't have to use too many checkpoints. Here's how I do it...
1) Make a 1x1 Station for a waypoint
2) order all your trains to go to it non-stop or whatever your orders are
3) make a bus depot next to it
3 1/2) Delete the train part and fill back in with a track
Now the trains will go to that stop normally and since it stilll exists right next to it, it works out fine. At least for me...?

Or c.) you try to service the cities as good as possible with Road vehicles, then you reach the limit very fast. That´s why I always reach the limit in my games, without using waypoints.krtaylor wrote:I've never hit the limit. The only way that I can think of reaching it is
