What do you mean exactly in terms of "compatible".

In general, you can only have one train set running as they usually are complete replacements for the original trains and as such, having more than one set running concurrently will result in clashing graphics.

Pity, I was in hope that Serbian NG set should be compatible with US set. It seems it's compatible only with DB set. Which incompatibility is showed?

The US Set depicts American trains in their original liveries. The newer NARS has them in company color primarily.

The artwork for the US Set was drawn long before New Cargoes were created, so there were never any graphics to match the newer sorts of cargos. Compatibility is there by basically coding the closest match. If you want sand in your hopper cars, someone will have to recolor the hopper-car sprites to show sand. I have all the old sprites and can provide them if you want to do that.
