US Set available [Trains v0.87.4d released 27 April 2008]

Are there plans to enhance the US Set with more ECS compatibility? Some cargoes show up now, which is nice, but some don't, which is a pity...

There aren't really any plans to make any major changes, since we do not currently have an active coder. If a coder appears, many things become possible.

Well, a coder showed up! And the US Set is now ECS compatible, at least in the Windows version. You can download it from the site in my sig.

But the game told me that error on it (GRF Status)

You have to have BOTH the base GRF file for the US Set, AND ALSO the ECS-adapter GRF file. I think you're trying to play with just the ECS adapter, which isn't going to work.

Hey, I found a bug in the latest version - you cannot refit the various interurbans to mail, nor will they pull mail cars. This is wrong, interurbans did do mail, and I remember seeing mail interurban sprites too. Is this an easy fix?

I have both of them
but the adapter grf cannot activate

The Japanset has the same problem - "development" is misspelled and I can't fix it.

You have to put ECS before any train sets. You should also use the latest 0.87.4, it's a development version, but it doesn't require any adapters.

I made it up so far but "grain" (Getreide) is missing for the box cars as it should do referring to the overview posted on the HP

There was a buggy GRF file which had this problem, but the most recent version has it fixed. Check to make sure you have 0.87.3 please.

Try v0.87.4d. It is an interim release but I have been using it trouble free for a while now. The version release date in the grf window is off by a year (2007 instead of 2008) but that is just a typo so do not be fooled into thinking it is an older version. There are a few other minor typos (E8 engine is named as just an 8 in the train list) but there is nothing major that is wrong in this version. At least nothing that I have found as yet. I am sure these minor typos will be fixed once everything is given a good going over before the next major release. As always, bug reports are always welcome by developers and users alike.
