Why is it disabled by default to create a new industry while playing? Does it cause any problems or can I activate it without worry?
And why doesn't the vineyard also produce alcohol?

That parameter's been changed from FIRS. The original parameter disabled industries spawning randomly as well as disabling funding/prospecting, which made it pretty useless. It now only disables industries appearing randomly over the course of the game, which is unbalanced and leads to too many industries because industries don't close by default. Many people set the industry density to "funding only" after generating a map, and this is no longer required.
If you want industries to spawn randomly, feel free to enable the parameter. However, the parameter no longer affects funding/prospecting industries, that is always allowed no matter what. (I could maybe do a separate parameter for this, but disabling funding/prospecting for primary industries is already in the game settings, and I see no real reason for disabling funding of secondary industries)

In the real world, a vineyard produces grapes, which are transported to a winery to become alcoholic beverages.
A winery is needed to do that.
Yes, many wineries are located within a vineyard and many vineyards have an on-site winery.
But, most vineyards across the globe have to ship their grapes off-site (usually no more a few kilometres/miles) to a winery, so it makes sense for a vineyard not to produce alcohol in AXIS.

Exactly, this is why the Winery & Distillery industry is programmed to spawn nearby to vineyards. Much like many other chains in AXIS and FIRS :wink:

Though I did consider splitting the distillery off into a separate industry, the problem is I'm starting to run low on industry IDs and I need to save those for a future economy. (the way it's programmed, industry IDs are shared across all economies and there is a hard limit of 128 of them)

Thanks for the information. I didn't realize this with those wineries, because here, each winemaker makes his own wine for himself and his guests - even if the wine is still transported somewhere.

IIRC That limit is per NewGRF. The total per game is 250 (I can never remember if that number is right, can someone confirm please?).
Perhaps you would consider splitting over two NewGRF's. Just a thought.

The limit is 240, I believe.

And I've thought about splitting the set if it came to that, but it would be messy and complicated :)

so I think I'd rather separate the economies out into different NewGRFs (as I mentioned, each economy shares the same pool of industry IDs)

As for changing the parameter, I understand. I'll have to keep this in mind for scenarios where no industry is initially located. Although, with such complex chains, randomly placing industries during the game is already a nuisance. I always end up subsidizing.

AXIS is best played with cargodist (asymmetric equal distribution) enabled for all cargos, and cargo delivery distribution mode set to Balanced.
This also for passengers and post ?
Normaly i use for logical reasons symetric for passengers and for post asymetric without equal distribution.

Passengers and mail don't count as AXIS has no effect on them, they can be played with whatever settings you prefer.

I've been enjoyed to update new version of AXIS about a days ago that yo can making tropical economies with this industry set due to 'Tropical Paradise' additional, however on Indonesian did not update on translation since from latest FIRS version after v3 (also in AXIS & XIS).

Such an interesting thing occurred to me. Would it be possible to make an economy that would be interesting for someone who sometimes likes to play with Mars, for example?
For example, I don't enjoy playing Mars with only the basic industry that is there. But when I put another one there, it looks weird.
I don't know if it would be possible to make an economy that would fit there and at the same time be interesting for those who don't play with the Martian landscape.

That would best be done as a completely separate project. As I mentioned, industry IDs for AXIS are running out and a lot of stuff would have to be changed.

I hope you know about the existing Martian Industries GRF though: viewtopic.php?t=64009

AXIS looks amazing!! I was a big fan of XIS and will probably use AXIS in a scenario I'm building (in particular the Tropical Paradise economy).

Do you have a complete industry chain diagram for the new economies, like the one you provided with XIS?

No, unfortunately the auto-generated one doesn't work so there's no full diagram for AXIS Tropical at the moment.

There is one for AXIS Steel City (however it's outdated now as there have been changes in the newest version) courtesy of Discord user Corns McGowan.

I personally find the in-game one easier to use anyway :)

I know that, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work with Opengfx+ Mars, I didn't download the toyland to Mars conversion. Maybe I'll try it sometime. :)

By the way, the fact that all the industry is available in Axis from the start is used for testing?
It's kind of funny to carry plastic in the mid-19th century. :)
