Take a look at Dutch Roads Project DROP and Velo DROP Fork, which added bike lanes and bikes to roads as a tramtype overlay.

Since I start to learn about the eye candy tram tracks..
see Auz Eyecandy TramTracks
viewtopic.php?t=89908&start=40
I decided to try and make a new road set.

The set so far contains just 20 roads and 2 tram tracks total of just 22 IDs. I removed all the fences and white posts I had in the AuzRattRoad sets.
The reason is because I can add the fences and white posts to the eye candy tram tracks instead. Got heaps of spare IDs for the eye candy tram tracks.

The eye candy tram tracks I already did is restricted when used with some of the larger road sets and you may not be able to use all that is available. Hence the reason I re-doing my road set with reduced roads. So hope can do a good set of eye candy tram tracks to go with these roads. (and can be used with other oads if you don't load a large set.

One idea I have is for the dead-end roads also known as cul-de-sac. They have a circular end so vehicles can turn around better. Can see a 4 in this image.

The cul-de-sac's are a good idea!
A much more elegant solution than the roadworksigns on most other roads.

Thanks glad you like the idea .. I hope with the eye candy tram tracks I can add some nice pathways around the cul-de-sac. This image I found on internet gives some interesting ideas.

AuzzieRoads

Been fiddling around with a new road set that can be used also with the Eye Candy Tram Tracks.

The new set most likely be called Auzzie Roads. It basically the 3 RattRoad sets I did, but reducing the number of roads.

Also looking at making the following changes:
* Remove the fences and white posts along side the roads as these will be provided in the a Eye Candy Tram Track set I been working on.
* Reduced the number of roads I have in the 3 RattRoad sets. Those 3 sets total 48, so far I have reduced it to 25.
* The road ends usually only occupy 1/2 a tile, but looking at extending them to occupy a full tile.
* The gravel and country roads extending the ends so you can easily join them to the object roads. Like this image.
Extended Road Ends.png
Extended Road Ends.png (15.72 KiB) Viewed 4103 times
* Some bitumen roads add gravel to the sides. (Like in image below)
* And in towns have the ends like this (cul-de-sac) as mentioned a few posts back.

Not sure when the set be ready to upload as keep finding improvements to add. When it is finished I will start working on the AuzEyeCandyTrams again.

Hi GarryG,

I have made a fork version of your AuzRattRoads set. The max speeds, costs, introducing dates and the availability of houses were adjusted. Is it permitted to use and spread? I have noted your and Andrew350's copyrights.

I believe the original material was under GPLv2 license, so you need to release your work under the same license.
This simply requires also posting the sources (code & graphics) and a little statement that you release your work under GPLv2 license.

Haven't looked at your code, but make sure that your GRF-ID is different from Garry's (so that it shows up as a separate GRF in the list, rather than an update)

I uploaded my fork GRF yesterday but I still cannot find it through the ingame downloader now. What is the problem? Can you find it? I have checked three times to ensure there is no GRF ID collision.

I placed in my folder at C:/My Documents/OpenTTD/content download/newgrf
and it appears ok for me for game use.

It shows it as Auz Ratt Roads JF Fork 0.1. and it do not clash with any of my road sets.

But not see it on Bananas yet.

I know this a silly question, but it a mistakes I done several times .. I so excited when I finish something I forget to copy the grf over to the folder or worse still I sometimes copy the nml file there instead.

Cheers pal

Yep, me too.
What possibly could be happening is that the game is detecting the version you made yourself on your own computer (for example, when you were testing it).
Make sure that nothing of your work is in a folder that the game has access to, it should then show up.

Okay, I see two versions because I have uploaded it twice (yesterday and today when I could still not see it via ingame downloader).
Maybe contents on BaNaNaS need to be censored, and admins were offline yesterday.

The error with the depots still persists.

And further - no vehicles can drive on the road of class A - I have not tried the latest version.
