Help with maintaining current Industries

Post by mmtunligit »

Hi, I was wondering if there is any GRF out there that is able to prevent new industries from opening and old industries from closing down. I like to play on scenarios, and all the extra industries that pop up ruin the experience somewhat. If anyone can help that would be great!

There is a NewGRF called "Manual industries" that lets you configure all that. It only works with the default industry set, and you must add it before starting the game.

If you use a different industry set like FIRS, ECS, BSPI, etc., you can use the "Industry density" game setting (after starting the game) set to "Funding only" to prevent new industries from opening. The industry set NewGRF you use can usually control whether its industries can close.

If you like playing with NewGRFs, FIRS industries offer what you need:
  • industries in this set never close (unless you set a parameter allowing them to)
  • there is also a parameter to prevent new industries from opening
