It's a shame these nice trains have existed for so long now but are still quite unusable :?

There are 2 versions of the suspended monorail on the thread you linked. One is the original, but that presents itself as a roadtype which you have to overlay with a tram type to allow the monorails to run on it (which looks janky because there are tracks and wires drawn alongside the monorail supports). The other is a NRT enabled version of the suspended monorail, but that only allows building the vehicles that come with it, not these ones. Am I missing something or is there no current way to get this GRF working properly with NRT enabled versions?

There is currently no NRT enabled version, however it works fine with the original non-NRT version:

It's just the basic tramtype, so idk what you mean by presenting itself as a roadtype.
I'll try to get NRT working, but I can't promise much.

EDIT: In my attempt to get NRT working, I somehow managed to uninstall nmlc with absolutely no way to reinstall it. Seems like my days here are numbered

There will be a solution. What operating system? :)

I use Ubuntu on Windows
Took me an hour to reinstall the whole thing, so NML is back in place, but even though I copied the whole nml thing on here: https://github.com/andythenorth/nml-and ... tRoadTypes It still gives me error about not recognising tramtypetable and tram_type, and I have no clue how to fix it.

I was using the non NRT version and it was somehow conflicting with NRT GRFs. But that's moot now because you did it! Thanks so much :D

Yes regular nmlc doesnt understand what tramtypetable is, I allso found that out the hard way.

Now with Openttd version 1.10 having come out perhaps the official version of nmlc should be updated to the NRT version?
The NRT version has a windows binaries, the latest official nmlc does not though it seems?

With the blessing of Tintinfan, I give you: JP+ Suspended Monorail! We nyoom under the JP+ flag now.
It's the same newgrf that you're used to, but now with updated purchase window sprites.

1.2 JP+ Suspended Monorail
Fixed: sprites on the rearmost tracks too low, including discrepancies between left&right hand traffic.
Changed: purchase window sprites changed to match JP+ better.
Feature: different length monorails now make use of the variant feature

Does he already have his own track? Before that it basically replaced the tram lines which was not nice

Yup, in fact, JP+ Susmon doesn't work unless you use the NRT version:

I already figured it out, thanks. It doesn't work with the old NRT version susmon because they have the same graphics ID, but it works with this alpha.

The set now comes with their own tracks and roadstops, meaning Wallyweb's Suspended Monorail set is no longer required (or compatible) with JP+ Suspended Monorails. For the full experience, JGRpp is required.
