one thing I noticed while playing OTTD (or TT in general) was the strange ways in which land was generated. ships arent too useful in most scenarios, as other players write, too.
so I thought about an advanced land generation process, featuring a few settings:
- continents/islands/one big landmass
- variable map size, from normal to bigmaps extension, that would be nice to have, since bigmaps generates huge maps, but the city and industry density is slightly too low imho
- maybe generate true rivers to allow ships to go along em
- coastal industries (maybe with integrated docks, if that would work?
anyways, just a few ideas that came to me, let me know what you think of em
advanced map generation

Refine-ments to the present "idiot-can-use" system.
You can already create oceans by setting to "very-flat" and "lots of water". But no real fine-control.
I like the rivers for boats idea.
Though such a universe generator would be quite complicated i suspect.
The map-size shouldn't be too difficult mind. Unless there's a part of universe generation that is expontential in it's calculations.
