city pop limit

Post by Tech^salvager »

hi all is there a limit of how big a city population can get because I have not seen my cities get over 5k yet only as high as 4.6k. Does it go any higher or is it coded like that.

no it depends on some internal settings.
I've had cities of over 20k myself. (with my own settings)

while on the subject of limits, ive hit the 80 locomotives limit recently and its really annoying because i want more trains for my network of track.

Is it possible to configure the limit for trains to be higher in the program, or is that not supported yet? can i get more locomotives by modifying the code?

Most definitely not. I am the one who released an implementation of them, yes.

Sandbox: there's a setting in openttd.cfg for the maximum amount of trains.
