BRTrains v2, now renamed as The British Rail Set (BRTrains v2), is now live on BaNaNaS

There will be more fixes and improvements to come, please report any bugs or problems in this thread, or on Discord, or in the Github, or anywhere else you can find me. If there's a unit or livery that you want in the set but isn't in the new update, this would be the best time to request it

I just had a chance to download it and I can say it is excellent. Thank you for combining both the original BRTrains and MUTS into one NewGRF. Please keep up the good work.

I just have two questions to ask.

First, are you going to add more freight cars to the set, specially freight cars from the stream and early diesel eras?

Second, can you add the original Blue Pullman train (BR Class 251) to the set? The train ran in service from 1960 to 1973, way before BR introduced the InterCity 125.

Thank you and once again keep the good work.

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah MUTS provided the inspiration for me to start working on the set, and also contributed the new build process, so it's a more significant part of this update than you might suspect: this isn't really "BRTrains with the MUTS units" but more of an amalgamation of both projects

Short answer to your questions: Yes, and yes :)

My interest tends towards modern units (mostly things that run on the network right now) so that gets more attention than other areas, but is also mostly complete now so there will be more time for other units. I've added a couple more freight cars (container wagon and the BRTTA tanker) already, but there will be more to come along with more steam locomotives and electric locomotives particularly. They, along with older freight wagons, are some of the areas that most need fleshing out

And yeah, the Class 251/Pullman is on the list of things to add - as a general rule, if it has ever run on the UK mainline then it will be added at some point. I assume you've noticed that the IC125 has the modern Blue Pullman livery, too?

Yes, I noticed and it looks great. As well as the paint scheme for the Scotrail's Inter7City HST train. Thank you for bring the IC125 into the late 2010s and early 2020s.

Included as of the latest Development build, so will be in the next release which will probably be released sometime this week :)

It may or may not receive a few tweaks before then, depending on my OCD

Would like to request a Class 304 EMU please, if it's not too late.

Used to travel on them a lot in the early 1990's, so would be cool to see the old "Dinosaurs" in OpenTTD 8)

It's never too late - the aim is to eventually have everything that's run in the UK so it'll be in eventually - but I like to add things people want so it's always worth putting requests in

Bumped it up the to-do list :)

Added to the list :) there are a bunch of requested units now from that approximate era so I’ll probably try to group them together and release a bunch of them

Hello, I found an issue. In the build vehicle window, all the locomotives have disappeared when I use the FIRS "steel town "economy. Could you fix that?

Interesting. I guess because the locomotives are technically “Goods” carriers (in order to make it possible to refit them), and that FIRS chain may not have Goods as an option? I’ll look into it

Confirmed with the FIRS developer that yes that’s the case. I’ll see if I can find a solution that isn’t too intrusive for things like livery refits
