Question for the programmers

Post by Slace »

You guys/ girls are obviousely very tallented programmers, to be able to replicate so well the game from how ever you did it. My question to you is what didn't you develop your own game (don't get me wrong, I'm very glad that you've increased the quality of TTD) but why not put your skills to work and make your own game, maybe with the TTD concept and make some money out of it?

Why didn't you set about making the 'next' transport tycoon yourselves?

My personal opinion on that: Because it is almost impossible to get good graphics (and sound/music) for an own game. There just aren't as many "open source" graphics artists as coders. And who has enough money to hire one?

why need to be hired first? Start developing something that seems like a viable game and then take it to some publishers
