Hopefully I downgraded from W10 to W7. I don't need W10 anymore. :D

I'm using Windows 11 now, have done for several month now. It's a really nice upgrade really. I'm not sure why people are finding fault with it, they must be trying lol.

In regards to the point about Edge, on my laptop I've not bothered installing anything else and tbh it's pretty standard fayre, I'd go as far to say it's better than Chrome (default search providers aside). Still using Firefox on my desktop (which is my main PC) though.

Have used Firefox for years, wouldn't have it any other way.

I am ...
I would even stiill use 98SE online without worries ... after I had my way with it of course. :P

Then again ... 99,9% of peeps would find my PCs, as they are, pretty much unusuable with all of the wings I clipped ... hehe
^^^ for the adventurous out there ... I would not use it (both 98SE, 2000, XP and 7 online out of the box and don't do it (read: over 50% of 'services' are disabled and should be when using old OSs)

Playing with my patchpack? Ask questions on usage and report bugs in the correct thread first, please.
All included patches have been modified and are no longer 100% original.

I wonder if 98SE is now 'safe' online, purely because no one bothers to lay traps & viruses for it as its so old now you'd catch very few people with it...

I doubt you'd get anything very useful done online from Windows 98 these days! I guess if you were playing games "of the era" online it might be OK (as long as they didn't rely on things like the Microsoft Internet Gaming Zone), but web browsing is almost entirely going to be out due to modern SSL requirements. Most mail and FTP servers now also require modern SSL standards.

I believe this is why Playstation 3s, even a Super Slim model so the most recent, won't load any web pages anymore, irritatingly!

Don't worry. I'm not using my private Laptop for any "Top Secret" or sensitive data/internet connections (tt-forums is good example).
I'm safe with my W7 with latest updates, backups and disk encryption.
