A little graphical bug :)

It seems to be due to the use of a wrong charset.

Image
Town name is Châteauroux and not ChÔteauroux.

All accentued character have the same problem.

As reminder, accentued charecters in french language are :

éèçàâäêëîïôöùæœ

Most common are bold, so these one should definitely work.

In german, you have this one : ß

And in spanish you have ñ and sevreral others.

Normaly, "extented ascii" (8 bits) can handle all of theim.

PS: Upper case characted should be accentued too, but due to problems at the earlier age of the printing work, by convention you can replace upper case accentued characters by simple upper case characters for printing (and computer also).

bug reports are nice, but post them as bugs on http://sourceforge.net/projects/openttd/

You can submit screenshots too. If you post them somewhere inside a threat in the forum, the programmers might not see it.

Did I see something about some undocumented feature, being able to modify map size, on sourceforge?

Anyway, I gave it a go and was well impressed, the waypoints are especially kewl.

I don't think so. While increased map size is not impossible and are planned, it's not an easy fix :(
When it works, it's not going to be there undocumented anyway

Ok, got the source zip,

* make
* chmod 703 ttd
* ./ttd

Code: Select all

[leif@localhost openttd-0.2.1]$ ./ttd
Error: No available language packs
ttd: ttd.c:72: error: Assertion `0' failed.
Avbruten (SIGABRT)
Avbruten(swedish) = Abort(english)

EDIT: I use RH9 and have SDL 1.2.6

You need to make the language file (english.lng e.g.) with strgen first. Than you have to copy that file to you OTTD directory.

The new strings, are they put in the botton of english.txt?
I hope so, else translating would take ages :|
Alcohol is not the answer, it just makes you forget the question.

New strings aren't always at the bottom of strings.txt. You can use the online SVN viewer to create diffs between the different versions (if you look in the tags directory, and go into a specific version, you can see the revision number for that version. Find the revision number for two versions, then go back into the trunk, go to lang, open english.lng and use the "create diff between revision ___ and ___" option).
