[Heightmap] The Estuary (Fictional)

Post by skippern »

I have created a height map I have called "The Estuary (Fictional)"

It is a relatively flat area with loads of waterways, with some heights and more hilly landscape on the north and west sides, leaving south and east with open sea. The waterways are formed as they would in a large river delta, like that of the Amazon river, Nile, Missisipi, etc. The meandering of the river is entirely drawn by hand assisted with "random seeds" from random tree growth. The motive for the height map is to create similar competitive grounds for all types of transport, so that trains, road vehicles, ships and aircraft compete on "equal" grounds.

The map should be 2048x2048

Any problems with the map, let me know, so I can have them sorted in another edition if necessary

I know I sound like an absolute retard by saying this but
How do I apply the height map?
IJN Takao is life. Why did the Shinano get converted? Gotta love NeuroTec for Garry's Mod. I even have a server!

  • Download and copy the heightmap to the subdirectory (game)/scenario/heightmap/
  • Start OpenTTD, go to NewGRF Settings and load your desired NewGRFs.
  • Go to Play Heightmap and select the desired heightmap, which will open the World Generation window.
  • Select the desired map size (2048x2048), set the other parameters accordingly, then press the Generate bar to start your game.
Hope that helps...
