small airports question

Recently restarted with TTD. Found a windows version on the net which works fine except for one thing which I wonder about. I made a couple of small airports (attached to train stations) which worked very well in the beginning but planes are no longer loaded. I can fly to from and to them but the do not take passengers/mail and do not unload as well. Is this a bug or do the small airport become inactive after (around) 1980 when you can build the big ones (those work ok)

While you can no longer build new small airports after 1960, ones that are already built should still work. I don't quite know why they aren't working in your game - you'll have to replace them with large airports, if that is possible.

Thx for the answer:) Now I know it is a bug and will see if I can fix it somehow.
