Custom music?

Post by nentindo »

Could I place custom music into the game by renaming a .wav file into a .dat file? If it is possible, how would I change the song's name in the option menu? Just asking this out of curiosity... this game's music is AMAZING, why would I want to replace it?

Mute the music in game and play music in the background, simples!

Yes you can place custom music in the game, as long as they keep the same name as the originals ones. (as in replace them.)

But easiest is mute + Winamp/Mediaplayer/VLC/Whatever

Yes you can

As previously mentioned you can just set your windows media player to play an album(s) quite easily, then just load locomotion and mute the music. If like me you get bored of said music after a while then simply save the game (as locomotion doesn't always like doing this next part) and press Alt+Tab to swap back to WMP, change your music and then press Alt+Tab again to carry on playing, oh yeah, make sure you pause it beforehand too hehe.

Alternatively use a stereo if available.

Alternatively, buy a Lenovo like mine and be able to change song without Alt-Tabbing. :D

So Let's say I want to replace Chuggin' Along, would I rename a music file from whatever.wav to 20s1.dat, and have it play normally? Thanks, I hadn't thought of the music player option before...

Might just be personal preference, but have always thought that "The Shadows" are well suited when playing locomotion and also model railways too. The songs "Apache", "Shindig", "FBI", they're all good :)

Actually, the only songs I dislike are Soaring Away, Techno Torture, and Everlasting High Rise. They just don't fit in with the game, if you ask me. I've even grown to like the ragtime songs, even though they all sound the same to me.
