I've been playing with LEGO again...

Post by AndersI »

Today we had a meeting of AFOL:s (Adult Fans Of Lego) in Norrköping, Sweden. We talked a lot, got some food, and played with LEGO!

Image

First we built 'vignettes' depicting scenes from films, and guessed what the others were trying to re-create. The first is mine...

Then we built a GBC (Great Ball Contraption), unfortunately only three working modules, but still fun.

Then we should team up two and two and build a catapult (or whatever) and try to land five 2x2:s inside a fortress 3 meters away. My team built a trebuchet:

The winner - all five ammo inside the fort - unfortunately not ours:

LEGO is really all-time toy. I played with it, and now I play with it together with my son. :)

You don't need any excuses (like children of your own). You are allowed to play with LEGO all by yourself. if you feel like it. I mean, there are grown-ups going out for half a day chasing a little white ball with an iron stick - why would it be worse sitting at home, constructing something?

Here's my latest GBC module:

I've got a pirate ship I built about 7 years ago in a cupboard somewhere. Might see if I can dig it out and repair it at some point.

Here's a little movie of the current state of my GBC:

Actually, since the film was taken, I've finished another module and a 'bridge' so now I can let the balls go round forever :-)

The kids and I are doing a StarWars week, we saw Episode IV Monday night, Episode V yesterday and will watch the last one tonight. I couldn't resist building a LEGO Millennium Falcon after watching ep. IV (the color of some parts is due to my limited supply of the right ones):

Lucky you. :) I allways look at SW bricks, but they're very expensive here. :(

I don't quite get what you mean? I didn't buy a SW set, I constructed it myself, with the bricks I have available.

Well, we've had a LEGO-meet again (I arranged it). Over 60 people, most of them grown-ups, played with LEGO, took part in small competitions, and had fun in general.

You're welcome to our meetings, although it's a bit far to travel from Canada :-)
