Game doesn't play music through General MIDI (Windows), so there is no effect of changing SoftSynthesizer playback device (like "Yamaha XG" or "Roland VSC") It was possible to set different SoftSynthesizer with the original TTD.
P. S. Sorry for my English.

Re: MIDI Music and SoftSynthesizer.
Have you downloaded and selected any music set other than "NoMusic"? Have you started the music? Have you setup the music volume appropriately?

Re: MIDI Music and SoftSynthesizer.
It's all right with music. All works fine. I mean that there is no effect of choosing different SoftSynthesizer playback device in Windows. Yamaha XG or Roland VSC sound as same as Microsoft SW Synth in the game. (MIDI music sound like default Microsoft SW Synth no matter what SoftSynthesizer is set in Windows settings). It's no good.

Re: MIDI Music and SoftSynthesizer.
It is not a problem. It is a suggestion: change MIDI MUSIC playback output in OpenTTD to General MIDI. (Users be able to change SoftSynthesizer in that case).
