Upgrading my version of OpenTTD?

How can I upgrade my current version to the most recent one without having to start over again? I want to be able to play online multiplayer again, and wondered if there are just a few files that need changing to upgrade?

Assuming you're on windows, download the .zip file, unzip it into your OpenTTD directory. Job done.
