build and lock trees, houses...

Hello :)

I play on a very big map in alpine climate, and my goal is only create a beautiful region with great towns, much rails, roads... a pure artistic and crazy creation :lol: Just because i like that :)
I add new grf that i download on many websites, and i will try the patches too. But, i don't find patches or grf can do that :
- build houses, hospital, cinema... to make our towns :p
- lock our roads, for that the towns can't change them.
- lock our trees, for the towns can't build houses... on them, and our trees never disappear
- build locked rocks, empty land in game (for rivers in game, i found a patch)
- rivers patch for alpine, not just temperate :)
- lock too the rails for the towns can't add road on :s
In my idea, the towns can grow, but we can preserve our roads, trees, rocks... to make a beautiful map in game :)

You can use TTRS (use Online Content Download or GRFCrawler) wich contains hospital and cinema (cathedrals, stock exchange, police and firefighter station, ...), but I disbelieve that you can build it yourself with any other set.

In the advanced settings window you can forbid towns to build roads. So only you have to build them.

Advanced Settings -> Economy -> Towns -> Towns are allowed to build roads -> set to: no

Use OpenGFX, this includes rivers for all climates.

Whopper used a tiresome, but useable method to create custom cities: repeatedly expand the city and delete the buildings you don't like.

About the trees, rocks that the towns can't delete, what is your opinion ?
I would like to make towns or areas with immortal trees :lol: So, for example, place trees around fields :)

you can try to achieve that with eyecandy objects, but you would have to create the grf yourself, and find someone who implements the necessary parts of the specs.

You could consider setting town growth to 0, in that case no buildings will be replaced. On the other side, when you demolish something, there won´t come anything in place. Good planning is the key then...
