Money cheat???

I know that many people on this forum hates cheats, but anyway:
Are there any money-cheats for simutrans?

Yes. There are few exploits that some would consider cheats.

Depends upon the PAK set you are using. Some come with different configurations which alter the revenue model.

But if money making is a problem there is a beginner mode that makes things simpler.

The basic pak64, pak 28 and pak.German sets all come with configurations that allow some seriously profitable routing. You dont need to take cargo directly where it wants to go. You can take it all over the map as long as eventually it knows it will get to its destination. This means vehicles spend a high % of their time travelling loaded.

Add "-freeplay" to the shortcut to run Simutrans.

I always use "-freeplay -nosound -nomidi", myself. (no quotes, though - just add after the exe and its quotes -- *outside* the quotes)

(note: some paks have 'freeplay' option in the options somewhere, but not all do)

About this...are you looking for a Sandbox mode? Sandbox gives you unlimited money, no rivals, and you can add and edit towns as well as edit the landscape.

try that out: change to public player (press 'P') and voila -- you can do all sandbox stuff without going to sandbox

But you can't build depots while playing as 'public service', so it only works when you want to build (LOTS of) roads.

you can also switch freeplay on:

goto main menu -> players -> toggle the button 'freeplay mode' in the lower left of the player window.

alternatively use the command line option -freeplay and then start a new game

Anyways, it is still fun to play, whether you play freeplay, public service or 'normal'.
Just two questions:
1: If public service builds a stop, will all players be able to use it?
2: Can simutrons transfer from one company to another?

1: Yes
2: This is done only on public stops. But it does not work if two stations of different companies are adjacent to each other.
