Just don't play and only start the AIsAlso, is it possible to start a game in "spectator" mode, if any?

I want to experiment how AI does in a small map like 64x64 compared to large maps such as 2048x2048.
* Download any/all available AIs using the content service
* Go to AI settings and set the number of opponents to the number of different AIs you've downloaded.
* Also in this window, explicitly apply one of each AI to the slots
* Third thing to set up in the AI settings window: click on each of the AIs and set the value "amount of days to wait since last AI started" (or something similar) to a low value, so that the AIs won't start with too much time inbetween...
(Alternatively to the last point, you can just enter "start_ai" into the console as many times as the number of different AIs you have, once the game has started).
* Start a game with your preferred settings
* Watch

Re: Current AIs' Battle Royale
There still seems to be a requirement that I am a player in the game (I can't remove myself)
Re: Current AIs' Battle Royale
It doesn't matter. Just don't build anything!

Indeed you cannot start a single player game without being a player yourself.SaxxonPike wrote:There still seems to be a requirement that I am a player in the game (I can't remove myself)
You could make a dedicated server (no advertising i.e. LAN only) though, and join as spectator. This way, there is no human controlled company.
Re: Current AIs' Battle Royale
I find the most fun is to let the AI run wild for 10-20 years and then switch companies using the cheat menu and to try to clean up the mistakes they have made or try to make things more efficient.
Its quite A LOT of fun, especially if there is lots of traffic. Two lane highways come into their element with the kind of traffic that AIs make.
