Personally, I like this, and I think the letters should stay as they are, as it is more true to the old splash screens that way.

I agree with the pathfinding. Once you get out of the commuting radius, then no development occurs and its just no point in playing

And as such, I blame EA and Maxis for inefficient code and implement bad pathfinding.
