Eek! Simutrans runs so SLOW!

I downloaded and tried simutrans, using default comfigurations and pak64, yet it runs so slow! 10-20fps only! Can anyone help?

Does not need to run faster, since the smalles movement of a vehicle is two pixels.

But if you downloaded 100.0 then I recomment using the nightly from 5.10.2008, which has a serious bug less, which made simutrans quite sluggish and CPU intensive.

Some advice, if you can get a higher spec'd CPU, i would. It's probably quite a bottleneck with the graphics card you have.

SImutrans do not use any accellerate graphics (same as openTTD) and 1.6 CPU should be fine for most purposes.
