Re: Countdown - They're Here!
Hmmm. If they had kept the blue base line level I think it would have looked better but there we go! Never have liked the Stagecoach livery much.
Re: Countdown - They're Here!
Not bad. Not bad at all.

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
Stagecoach's livery always reminds me of Network South East.

And the rather sexy London Midland livery in the light of Day:

I like the London Midland one - kinda reminds me of Central Trains...
XC is a bit of a letdown though.

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
London Midland Livery looks very similar to Southern's Livery on the turbostars (same company though i guess)
Re: Countdown - They're Here!
We also, of course, have "London's new train set", the London Overground starting, albeit using trains handed over from silverlink at present.
I'm surprised that TfL would use such a slogan given that groups that oppose investment in public transport like to pretend that the only reason politicians might support a tram or railway line is that they're "men of a certain age who like to play with their train set".
I like the effect of the variation of the underground livery applied to mainline rail.

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
Its a good advert I think but they still need to get the right batteries for it on the Goblin line at least. Can't wait to see the 150s painted in LO colurs!
Re: Countdown - They're Here!
350 in London Midland Colours looks rather good too.

Some Oyster credit I bought with my debit card from one of the new Oyster machines on the Overground was charged on my bank statement to 'Silverlink Trains'. Wonder who really is in charge!

I'll be seeing those horrible things every day as I walk to school now... To be honest, I prefer the MML livery, but one can't have everything...jvassie wrote:The new liveries look pretty good IMO, except the one thats identical to SWT.. could of been more imaginative
One just hopes they don't make the interiors orange too. The mellow green was nice and relaxing.
Re: Countdown - They're Here!
I liked the old MML livery.
National Express liverys have gone downhill over time in my opinion. I'm half expecting GNER to turn into "Ntnl Xps 3st Cst" and have a pink livery with lime green hearts.
I admit that faced with such a prospect the stagecoach livery has grown on me.

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
I think National Express are going to tred carefully with an idea as to how they will proceed livery wise... I know the MD has been quoted as saying he is aware of how big a brand GNER was and how he aims to reproduce such sucess...

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
I think they would be very stupid to change the GNER look simply because its one of the few train companies that the public at large are aware of. But then Richard Bowker is in charge of National Express, and he is not the brightest crayon in the pack IMO.

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
They are the stagecoach colours though, they have similar liveries on their buses (most of them, although more similar to the 444s rather than the 450s)jvassie wrote:The new liveries look pretty good IMO, except the one thats identical to SWT.. could of been more imaginative

What's the difference? - i always hated the One livery. However the newer MML was much better than the old one. Likewise for Hull Trains. The exception is c2c - i liked the old White + Dark Green Doors and front.. - now guess who's copied that livery in the last week?

Re: Countdown - They're Here!
The National Express house colours will be applied to all their transport companies (long distance coaches and all) will be, supposedly dark blue featuring silver although not entirely sure how.
As for the silly names of NatEx, well they're gone. It's only proper stuff from now on.
National Express East Coast
National Express East Anglia
not sure what is happening with c2c though.
http://www.nationalexpressgroup.com/nx/ ... 07-11-15a/ is the story.
I still fail to see why 'one' can't use its official name of London Eastern Railway. If you make a cheque out to 'one' you have to make it to London Eastern Railway and they appear in the timetables as "LE".
As for the livery of 'one'. I personally don't mind it, looks nicer than the First "I've been sick on the side of the train" livery.
