Can you help me on this one?
Can you help me on this one?
First of all, I am VERY excited to have found a "download" link that works for me to obtain TTDX for Windows. I only had the (purchased) DOS version, but have since upgraded to WinXP Pro. Also, I have found and purchased yesterday on E-Bay, a BRAND NEW & SEALED packaged Transport Tycoon Deluxe for Windows. Should get here in about a week!
The problem I have:
I installed and patched (1.8.1. patch) TTDX yesterday. I was "glued" to it for at least 6 hours. I saved my game and retired for the night. This morning, I got up, fired up TTDX, loaded my saved game. After about 3 seconds, TTDX FROZE UP. I tried everything from deleting the .ovl file, running the "TTDX Configurator" so it would create a "fresh" .ovl file. Nothing works.
Can you help me please?
Thanks in advance

maybe you should:
open ttdpatch.cfg in notepad, and then search for win2k (press CTRL+F)... make sure it says win2k on !!!

actually he said, the game ran good and suddenly the day after his saved game doesn´t run anymore, so i don´t think it´s a problem with the cfg fileOriginally posted by GoneWacko

Got it! It works now! Thanks guys!
Ok, I followed your instructions to uninstall the game (I saved the game that gave me those crashes before hand). I re-installed everything, re-applied the patch. It now works.
I figured out what was causing these crashes:
I was using the program: TTDX Configurator to set up most of the "switches". It obviously was causing the crashes, because after I did a fresh install (without running this program) my saved game worked fine (except that I was getting the message that the vehicle mutliplier minimum of 3 was required to play this saved game). But it worked. I exited the game, launched TTDX Configurator, and restarted that saved game..... it crashed again.
So it was the culprit!
Again, thanks for all your help! Much appreciated.

i don´t use this configurator
i delete my .cfg file, let the game re-create one and go into it with notepad
you get to know these switches after a while
oh well, this seems to be a good solution for lot´s of things
that´s why it is good to do a re-install or re-format when you are stuck on an error
