New option to disable UFOs

Post by menosferato »

Is there or could you create a new option to disable those crashing UFOs? :P
Honestly, they suck!

You can already turn off all disasters:
Difficulty Settings -> Disasters (at the bottom) -> Off.

Or did you want to leave the rest enabled..?
I'm on the Zoloft to keep me from killing yall

My patches: Better graphs - Train acceleration - Crash rates

Hmmm... didn't thought about that.
But that's cool. I don't know what else could happen as disaster.
But disabling disasters should be enough.

Btw, why those UFOs **ALWAYS** crash on players tracks?
And another ship comes to bombard it... :x
Kinda, stupid.....

Because that's what they're programmed to do...

Yes, but it is odd that disasters only affect you. There he has a point. Maybe a possibility to tune up the frequency of the disasters but then also that it can affect everyplayer. (Thus AI aswell.) :)

i'm not sure if a section of the AI track blew up cause of a UFO if the AI would rebuild it though lol...probably needs some changes there as well.

The current AI is highly non-functional (last time I tried it). Maybe they'll do something in the NoAI branch.
At present, the AI is immune, even if a UFO blows up right next to his track (but on yours), his track will survive.

If you want to see a real funny... I played an aircraft only game. Along came the UFO, and it couldnt find any track to land on (it ignored the AI's track). So it goes land in the sea... XCOM turn up and kaboom, the sea gets vapourised.
OTTD NewGRF_ports. Add an airport design via newgrf.Superceded by Yexo's NewGrf Airports 2

Disable disasters does not work (0.5.2)

Post by Priski »

Disabling disasters won't disable UFOs. Don't know if this is a feature or bug but sure is annoying.

Does it work for anyone else? I have never been able to disable UFOs in OTTD.

EDIT: Found why it did not work, there was a bug in finnish translation, reported in bugtracker.

I really wanna see disasters happen.
But there's this weird one that is green...

I dunno if it is an addition or it is just some secret disaster.

And you had to reopen a 9 year old post (2 posts judging by the history) to let us know?
