3 pages in what time?!
Well, it's just a train, it drives people from station to station.
From point A to point B in a finite time. It operates by driving on rails with help from overhead wires or a 3rd rail for getting power. Some however have diesel enginges or use steam.
Wikipedia has a nice article about them.
And I quote:
"In rail transport, a train consists of rail vehicles that move along guides to transport freight or passengers from one place to another. The guideway (permanent way) usually consists of conventional rail tracks, but might also be monorail or maglev. Propulsion for the train is provided by a separate locomotive, or from individual motors in self-propelled multiple units. Most trains are powered by diesel engines or by electricity supplied by trackside systems. Historically the steam engine was the dominant form of locomotive power through the mid-20th century, but other sources of power (such as horses, rope (or wire), gravity, pneumatics, or gas turbines) are possible." -Wikipedia

Some say that the British members of tt-forums have too much time on their hands and keep posting random threads in the Transport Section.
Just just what I 'erd though.

If it's a 153 surely it's not technically a train. A train is a series of two or more carriages... [/pedantry]
I'm not too keen on them. Bad memories. Central trains used to use them for the service between Nottingham and Birmingham. Just one every hour. Ever seen 300 people try to get into a single carriage?

It probably became 153310 or 312? OBVIOUSLY.Parkey wrote:Well it's really only half a train.
Do we know what happened to 153311's evil other half?
chevyrider - 153s are the best "trains" in the world!
And jp - a pacer is more like a bus than a 153. While the 155 was built by British Leyland, it was actually a Super Sprinter (which it technically remains to this day). 153 'Super Sprinter' as compared to 153 'Railbus'.

Both 153310 and 153312 are with Arriva.
They say 153311 has no owner, but bestows its services on TOCs as though it were a gesture from God himself.... and that it hunts for its twin high and low just to show who got the superior rivits...
All we know is it's 153311

They say that it invented 1337 and then moved because it became fashionable, moved on to 3311 instead... and that it doesn't SPAD because all signals mysteriously turn to green.... all we know is it's 153311

Some say that in 20 years time when it comes up for withdrawal, NO one will want to take it in to preservation, and that when it is taken out of service, it will explode mysteriously, all we know is that its 153311.

Some say when used as a thunderbird other trains mysteriously fix themselves... and that if it ever broke down, no fitter would be trained to fix it - all we know is it's 153311

Some say that it was made from recycled biscuit tins, all 2,350 rivets were inserted by hand by beautiful women, and when it goes backwards there is no driver but the toilet is engaged.
