GNER eurostars

Just wandering, but do GNER still use their Eurostars. When i went to scaborough by train all i saw at York station was 225s.

Didn't even know that GNER had any. I do know that it's difficult to run them as far as York, and there is only one platform there that they can use. The rest have too small a radius on the curve for the Eurostar's rather rigid consist.

I've never seen one.

I believe they have (or are due to be) returned as the sets are about to see use for the new CTRL.

Just been checking it out. The GNER arrangement concluded in December 2005. There are none remaining on lease to GNER.

I got one of those a few years back, was quite surprised to see a Eurostar and not the Class 91-hauled consist I was expecting. Quite comfortable, although it seemed to go slower than the normal trains that you'd see on the line.

GNER leased sets of eurostars that were not being used by Eurostar itself, some were put into GNER colours using vinyls. The trains operated the King's Cross to Leeds services under the 'whire rose' name
They were hired during the refurbishment of project mallard.
They have since been returned.
