Finally got round to uploading the latter.

It sounds well composed, alltroght my taste would have prefered more variation.

Bear in mind it's background music that I'm composing. I don't want something that will distract you from the game too much. I've been killed one too many times in Operation Flashpoint due to air-guitar-related deaths.

Thats true. Perhaps it should be a bit darker (lower tone). But bear in mind that I am hearing impared, so I hear some tones worse than other. Meaning that I don't hear the music in the same way as you do.

Hi Paranoid Android!!

I want to help with music!! Is it possible now? I have other projects (composing things for films, my own band and the university, of course) but I think I can compose something :)
I can record things at home or at a studio in the music school I go to learn guitar :)
Cheers!!

Beautiful piece, one of your best in my opinion. Listened to this quite a few times now, it's very good - really atmospheric, etc. I'm not too good at describing music, but I like this. ;)

You can gladly help since we're going to end up needing about 9-10 hours' worth of music. All you have to do is post your compositions here so I can hear them, then nearer the time I'll start compiling a shortlist of music that'll be in the actual game.

Right, I sent my entry off for the BBC competition today so that's all out the way, but I now have the small issue of A-level exams getting in the way. As soon as they're over I'll get back to work. Promise.

I think more people are suffering from exams these days. Good luck on them and I hope your entry to the BBC competition will be liked.

I should definitely go for OGG for all the reasons Owen mentioned. Also, I think a slight moderation of http://users.tt-forums.net/jfs/TTTHEME.MP3 with appropriate quality should be the title music. TTO music is great.

Love 'Towers'.

There is more music on the way, I promise. I'm tied down composing for other stuff and things at the moment.

Brief update from thee music department...

Some jazz is on the way, and will be with ye by the end of the weekend. I've also got some weird post-modernist stuff which is for school and I'm proud of but it ain't really game music... I'm hoping to nick some ideas from, I mean, er, be inspired by anything I see at the Last Night of the Proms tomorrow.

I'm going to go into hyper-productivity mode again at some stage, hopefully get another hour's worth of music together by the end of the year.

I like it very much !!

I think I'll leave it playing on the background while working on my pc the rest of the evening :D

[edit] hmm, after 5 or 6 plays, I did turn it off, but that's still a good record :-) [/edit]

are we after jazzy/funky stuff like TTD??

Also, what format ar we after?

Railroad is ok.....the rhythm section could use a little humanising tho.

Will the music be released under the Open source licence becuase that would be pretty cool.....collaberative composition.

EDIT: http://artlibre.org/licence.php/lalgb.html

This could be very cool (If the other composers are willing to give up their rights to the music to be made)

When I get my computer back i will write something provisional :D
