Download the file from Josef site. I just forget the name. Something dxmci.zip or similar. It's on the source site.

Yes that worked, but when I used that one, the sound changed and wasn't the same anymore

For me sound didn't work (on 98) but this was before the patch so... Anyway I just download the midi's from (I think it was) Owen's site and played them in winamp while playing ttd (sometimes when I wasn't   ) but the sound effects worked alright.

As I've said before, this is because it uses the DirectMusic synthesizer you mentioned earlier in this thread. It would probably be possible for me to modify dxmci.dll quite easily (the source is available with TTDPatch, obviously) to make it use the default MIDI device instead of the DM synthesizer, if you like.

If will improve the quality, please do it. In the last games, I had to turn the music off, left just sound, because of poor quality.

Where can I find that patch that's available but still in development stages?

I mean the one talked about here:
2.1.12 I can't get the sound to work. Why?
A frequent complaint when playing Transport Tycoon or Transport Tycoon DeLuxe under Windows95 or Windows98 is that there is a problem with the sound, most often that sound effects don't work.

There are four common problems, two with the Windows-version of the game, and two for the DOS-version.

If you have the Windows-version, try:

The install program doesn't do its job properly and writes the game location in long filename notation into the registry, whereas it should be using short filename notation. The Patch solves this.

Under Win2K and WinXP, there are often pauses when the music changes from one track to another, due to the DirectMusic system used. There's a patch available, but it's still in development stages.
Or is that the same as the patch. Of course I know where to download the alphas.

http://www.ttdpatch.com/src/dxmci.zip

Extract that to your TTD directory, and see if this helps.
