Internet games are not possible (yet?).

Further, please tell me what operating systems you are running on the network computers and what version of the game.

If you run TT Deluxe on WinXP (both machines) you just have to start the game on both computers, hit the [2 Players] button and make one of the machines the host and the other the joining client. Both must use the same protocol, IE: both TCP or both IPX. Then the joining player should find the other network game, when you see it, hit JOIN. Then the game screen returns showing you the games have been linked and the host can start a new game the same way as in single player.

Hope this helps,

Adam
I made that! ;)

Hi John

It is possible apart from you can only build trains I believe. The problem is been sorted out now by the patch maker Josef Drexler. So hopefully we will have a fully working muliplayer option. Keep checking back for updates.

If network support is in the game it should not be so hard to make a patch for playing it over the internet. After all, the internet is just a really really BIG network. Maybe a programmer will do that for us some day. I certainly hope so!

Got it "working" through Win2k VPN, ipx across the internet. But the protocol used by ttd is too slow, so it´s very sluggish. I think it would be a lot of work for a programmer to fix this :(

Oh you I´ve got it working thought VPN before. Very slow. Was good fun though!
Plus it takes ages to set VPN you normally. Then it just doesn´t work for unknown reasons so I don´t recommend it too people to try. But it does work.

Why don´t you ppl try Zonelan IPX at MSN gaming zone? Maybe it´s faster, because I think that VPN uses quite a lot bandwidth.
If it works, plz lemme know.

Thats possible with the MS-DOS version. Not the windows though because that only does direct modem or TCP Winsock.

I´ll have to try it sometime.
Thanks,
Adam Reece.
