Sharing a post with someone
Imagine... You wrote a post somewhere and want to show it to a friend via PM, messengers, email, whatever.
You could just give him the URL of the thread, but that's pretty hard when the topic is visited twice every minute... Hard to find your post! So heres what you can do:
Move your mouse over the 'EDIT POST' button (don't click it!!!)
in the statusbar, you should be able to see an URL + a number...
so for this post, that would be ...
Now, remember the number, and write
http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... R*#*NUMBER*
so for this post it would be: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=15830#15830 (try it
)This is a lot easier as the screen will be centered on the post once you load the page!
Highlighting
We can do more interresting stuff with the same file. Viewtopic.php is a, you've guessed it, PHP file! That means that anything behind the question mark (?) will be looked at and transformed into variable data if the variables were defined in the php file. So what other cool things can we do?? We could go further with the previous string of code (http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?p=15830#15830)

When you now click the link, the browser will highlight the word 'Highlighting' OR words that contain it like 'HighlightingRules!!!'
You can also higlight longer strings... what if you would want to highlight '1 2 3 4 5 6'?? There are spaces between the numbers and places spaces in your URL is a bad idea... So if you replace the space with a plus sign (+) it will work. http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... +5+6#15830
