cant build trains :(

when i start a new game (generate random new game) the only thing i can build is three different boats, the mps regal bus and sampson u52 airplane. i played this game manymany years ago and i seem to remember that you should be able to build trains right away, am i right? i can build railroads, but cant get any trains on them :\

please help

I guess you're using TTDPatch? What year are you starting the game? There are no default temperate trains available before 1933.

The answer is either to start at a later date, or download a new trainset to use - if you like the default British scenario, I'd humbly suggest my UK Renewal set. Otherwise, the US or DB sets are well worth a look.

i start my game in 1930, so that helps A LOT. thank you :>

The introduction date of vehicles can vary by (IIRC) 20 months, so wait a bit longer.
