Beta / Alpha patches crash TTD for some unknown reason

Post by Kingsley Jarrett »

I havent been on this newsgroup for a period of time but im back now :-)

I decided to get the latest alpha of the patch but to my suprise when i ran
it it crashed TTD as soon as it got to the Startup screen. Before that i
heard the theme tune but i didnt see microprose.

TTD Patch has generated no error log or no error message, it just quits.

Please could you tell me what is going wrong becuase I have seen the new
features of the patch and I am eager to use them!

Thank You

Are you sure you have the latest version, alpha 22? Because there was a
crash like that in alpha 20 or 21.

Then I can only guess that it's an old graphics file which is causing
this. Try removing files from newgrfw.cfg one by one, and see if there's
one that causes the crash.

Yep, it was a GRF file causing the error - investigating....
