TTD Patch and TTD Alter

Post by Guest »

Does any one know if TTD Patch and TTD Alter will work together??

I have them both and like some things out of each of them.... but when
I run TTD Patch, then TTD Alter doesn't seem to work... Does anyone
have a little batch file they run first to get them going or ...???

Thanx in advance for any help... It is great to get back to playing
this great game again...

It's possible to use both. I do that to make the tubular steel bridges
capable for higher speeds for example. To do this, you have to run
TTDAlter on your ttdx.exe (or tycoon.exe) and modify it as you wish.
Then, delete ttdload.exe, the patched executable. And finally run
ttdpatch to re-create ttdload.exe with your modified values and play the
game.

Alternatively, you could run TTDAlter on ttdload.exe itself, but then all
your changes will be lost in case it is re-created for some reason.

Would it be possible to make a userfriendly program incorporating both
programs into one?
That would be AWESOME!

Well, they are programs with different concepts. TTDAlter has to be run
before you play TTD, and TTDPatch runs while you play. But you are right
in that that they could work closer together.

Though that is mostly in the hands of the author of TTDAlter; I've done
all I could to make it work as well as I can.

In fact, I'm going to email him and suggest a few improvements that would
make this a bit easier. All that has to be done is automatically delete
ttdload.exe after a change. You could even do that yourself by starting
TTDAlter from a batch file that does this too.

Thanx Josef !!

I deleted the ttdload.exe file after my TTDALter mods and then ran the
game (which has your TTDPatch in a batch file to start it) and it
worked !!!

Thanx again

Tanis

ps.. I love this game!!
