Yes I know mate. It depends on what time of the day it is. I get most hits around 3-4pm UK time. Sorry but theres nothing I can do apart from buying a faster server. And my financial situation holds me back at the moment.

Transport Tycoon Websites

Post by Offworld »

I have only discovered this website, Owen´s sites and some other Transport Tycoon sites. I have owned the orginal and the Deluxe games for a long time now. I used to play them for hours and hours.

With all of these new patches, cheats, extra scenarios, editors etc to play with I think I am going to be playing the game for many many hours in the near future.

Many thanks to all of the Transport Tycoon website creators and supporters. Great sites.

Hey Matt, I was thinking about giving your site a little re-design. Some things could be improved greatly I think, but I will tell you nothing until I have something to show you. I will email you when I´m done. Or I will post a link here on the forum.

I think you´ll like it. ;)

Do you have any "Flash" knowledge beacuse that would greatly improve your site.

Still a great site though!

John

p.s if you have never seen or heard of Flash before (which I doubt) take a look at it as it looks very profenisional.

Flash

Post by Ildefonse »

Hmm, flash may look very good indeed. Maybe I´ll put some of it in my design. BTW, it´s not so hard to learn to work with flash, Matt. Just the tutorials in it should be enough to make you understand most of it.

If you are starting with Flash you probable will wanne use SWiSH. It produces the same results but it´s much easier to make.

Yes I´ve seen Swish. Looks very good. I might take a look at that. Then move onto flash 5. Or Flash MX (6) which is out soon I believe.

Hey pretty sites Donut. I myself am no professional designer or something, but I´ve made this one http://www.mahassen.nl/ go enter the site in any language.

And notice that the logo was all done by hand in Photoshop, i had to copy it from a 1,5cm x 1,5cm square :P Was to small to scan & edit properly.

Tell me what you think of the look.

Uhm, Matt, how much do you value the 800x600 restriction? I would say 1024x768 is rather the new standard nowadays. Even on my own 15 inch monitor i use that res.. :)

Anway, I´ve been doing some designing, here is a preview of the general concept. Tell me what you think. Don´t worry if you don´t like things, everything can be changed, no problem. Just tell me.

Oh and offcourse I haven´t added any content, but the general idea will be light green text in the menu and black on the main page. Think that this, together with the lighter background, will make the whole site a bit more readable and less ´busy´.

Greets, Adam

Thanks people.

Yes Matt I made it today for you. The intention was indeed that you could use it if you liked it. I just have to slice the image up so you can use them in HTML in frames (which i think would be best) I will work on it more later on. Tell me any suggestions/improvements/ideas.

Cheers, Adam

I mean the hover menus on all my pages. (Apart from the forums) Like the downloads pimage would list all the downloads below it when the mouse hovers over it.
