My first attempt [New Company Headquarters]

Post by Peter1x9 »

I was using the latest TTDPatch alpha with Zimmlock's Total Town Replacement
Set and the regular company headquarters simply didn't look adequate. I put
my HQ in the largest town on the map and eventually had to hunt
around for it since the other buildings were all much taller.

I made the original higher and wider, put in a parking garage (that perfectly
connects to roads if you attach them to the hq in the right place), and added
some decorations to the roof. I also recolored certain parts of the HQ
(such as the roof and sides) to be more consistent with the other TTD buildings.

get it here:

This looks good, I'm very curious for your next design already! Nice to see you aligned the parking lot entrance with the city roads. An eye for detail ;)!

How about adding a gate or something to the front of the road?
Just for security purposes, they always do that for large buildings
And it still looks great, btw

Well done! That whole road-not-connecting-to-the-headquaters thing had been a pet-peeve of mine for a long time. Meant to take care of it myself, but no need now. Good stuff, there.

Hey, if you have the creative bug, there's A LOT of things that need drawn for any number of projects in the works. Lots to done, so few artists.

Cheers!

I was debating where to put that. I already put in the security guard shack at the entrance to the parking garage...should I also attach small gates to that?
I'll look up some pictures to get a guide for the gate at the road entrance. I would like to use one gate that works for both "drive on left side" and "drive on right side" options.

Post the links here and i'll get to work .

Btw, could someone point me to a tutorial on how to do dos conversions?

Ive always thought the existing building didn't represent the size of the company very well when it it grows to that level.Great to see an aligned carpark.

Great work on the gates. If I were you, I'd add a little height to the air conditioner unit on the roof. Right now it looks like a wall plug outlet. (Maybe God can use it to plug in his hairdryer. )

But my CEO wanted God to stop by now and then. :P

J/K, i'll increase the height by 1 pixel and go from there.

I thought it was a com plug so God could send suggestions to the CEO and tell him to stop thinking he was God
This my HQ du jour! It's great! :)
Question for the coders/patch team ... Can the HQ show stages of construction? :?:

Thats incredibly cool. You should talk to PikkaBird, he is doing a similar thing (Modifying old, in game sprites to make a new set). I'm sure that you could do some cool work together ;).

Once I'm completely done making changes, i'll make a version for each road set.

Btw, does anyone have any more suggestions? Should this be the final version?
