Height problem

Post by ghostknife »

Take a look at the screen shot showing my Class 31. It does not fit properly into the selection box (note the wheels hang down out of the box and clash with the top of the train below).

Also see that in the game the train sits too low upon the track.

I have tried altering the XML in various ways but I have not been able to make any difference to the positioning of the trains height within the box.

Any ideas why this is happening.

For each individual graphic you have an xpos and ypos co-ord that gives the position of the top left corner from the centre of the area (therefore, they are negative). Alter them to make the vehicle look right in the views.

height problem

Post by ghostknife »

Problem solved! Class 31 now sits at the right height and is perfectly centered to track.

Xofs & Yofs for all images were -98.
They needed changing to xofs -100 & yofs -98.

Thanks for help

Out of interest, that looks a little long for a 31.

It is too long, which is a problem caused by using models borrowed from MSTS.
To shorten it to the correct length would make it too low. You can have it too low or too long and I have opted for too long.

The cure would be to alter the original .S file in MSTS and compress the length of the model some how.

Trouble is I dont know what software you would use to achieve this.

If any one knows................
