Factory max output

Post by Nippo »

What is a factorys max output?
I've reached 27,540 crates, is it max for TTD?

i'd say there is no real limit, but i guess if you reach 2^15 the last-month production wouldn't be correct anymore...

Although I believe that staions only hold a max of 4095 tons so make sure you've got a good network to take all them goods away.

this is what i'd like to learn, too. when i open some saved games (especially created by some pro-gamers in this forum), i see some industries producing very big amounts. (like a farm which i saw on a game created on the european map, producing 2k graind and livestock)

does increasing the productivity of an industry depend on the frequency that the trains arrive for loading? (i tried this, i built a station with enough lanes to accomodate 4 trains for loading at a farm) or does it depend on building more than one station to serve that particular industry?

I think it depends on the ratings at the local station (which among other things depeds on age of vehicles visitng frequency of vehicles visiting, and some other things...)

well over the last month, i made tests for that. i generated a scenario, placed a farm, built a big station with 3 trains each for grain and livestock traveling to a nearby factory. the ratings at the station was above %80 all the time, but the max. output was 720tons of grain and livestock.

how can i increase more?

Well i have found that if you service a primary industry(mines/farms etc) they will increase eventually but it is random as to when or how long it lasts. Using ttdalter u can modify the starting production but if you raise it to high when the production falls it will stop producing i found that if you set the output to x24 you will reach max output and when the industry halfs production it wont stop completly. this in mind the max primary industry can produce is just over 2 thousand tonnes/items/litres.
Secondary industries(factorys/Refinarys) on the other hand are only limited by inwards goods, i think but maybe Owen Rudge may be able to shed some light on this subject since he did create ttdalter.

Ive never seen any primary industry produce more than 1000/month. The only thing that does is a farm, but thats 2 separate goods types. And the max Ive had each produce is ~900

I think the max for raw material industries is 2040 tonnes/litres etc

For secondary industries...I think i reached just over 9000 crates, it is very hard!

Nippo, please could you post that savegame!

Well, here it is.
I'm posting two versions.
One is not optimized for PBS, the other one is.
PBS will make it more efficient and it is a bit updated too, but it may have some problems with trains gettings lost.

thanks nippo im gonna have a look now

wow id never thought of having that many trains in and out of so few stations well done

when i loaded the game i didnt grab the cfg so the lights needed to be reset and the factory almost halved production and there was no problem

awsome station configuration

have you tried ttdalter as well to edit the game to how you want it

there is planes being lost get a few buses to unload passengers at the airport from the middle of the town

and rework the lights they are a bit close especially at the station entry one set on to the platform

by the way have you tried the train sets?
and the long vehicle sets?

Yes, I used TTDAlter to boost the Farms and Woods, but I have
problems with some of those industries to fall to Zero production after some time.
It usually does that if you try to boost it to max.
It should work if it's right below max in TTDAlter.

Is it possible to put two busstops next to each other?
Like if I wanted to have two bustops unloading to one airport for example?

No this is not possible. Its not something that could be added either, because a bus would only stop at the first stop anyway.

Well, its not impossible, but unless you want to recode the entire pathfinding then it is.

Now I'm pretty sure that there are limits with the industries.
Even though I added some more trains, more stations and more farms and forests I can't go over 27,540 crates on the Factory and not over 18,360 on the Sawmill.
Now I have 19 stations feeding the Factory and some Sawmill, and then 10 stations feeding the sawmill and 240 trains. Most of them going to these.

Anyone else have that problem?
Maybe build more factorys and sawmills next to each other?
By the way, is it possible to have more than 240 trains?
Please download my game and come with suggestions.
It's not the latest update, which contains some fixes like trains getting
lost, junction problems, more stations and trains, etc.

Well, I tried yesterday to build another factory and sawmill next to the
others.
Now it is boosting between 30-40.000 crates on the Factorys instead of the 27,540 limit I had, and between 20-30.000 crates on the Sawmills instead of the 18,360 limit.
I'm currently handling around 55% of the goods. Don't really know how to
manage anymore. I have a 15x11 (WxL) station for goods pickup,
but It's not enough...
Anyways, suggestions are always welcome
