[Released]Western Ohio with industries

Post by PennCentral »

After much beta testing, here it is. Loosely based on the Springfield/Dayton Ohio area. Some of the real lines that ran on this map include:
DT&I
PennCentral/Conrail
C&O
B&O
NYC
Erie Lackiwanna
Norfolk and Southern
It's saved with no add-ons, so hopefully it will load up ok for everyone. It has no AI as is, but you could change that in the editor if you wanted to. This scenario will sprout some good looking no hi-rise cities as well.:)
Comments welcome.

With roads in place its inviting to set up road haulage big time.

I like flat.

*Important Note*
Was just trying it out in this form myself, and I forgot to turn off these offices. For the best looking cities, do so before you start.

Thanks for the comments. :)

When you look on the western horizon from here, you can actually see thunderstorms over Indiana to the west. Flatness brings tornados with it tho. :(

*Edit*
The link now contains the scenario with the offending offices turned off
Sorry for the inconvience.

Would love to see some screenies of your versions of this. Am interested in comparing where you guys think the lines should have went, and where they really were placed. :)

Where are all the real town names? Being from Cincinnati, I'm kind of particular about my Ohio scenarios.

Well, I would have loved to given the towns the actual names. Look at the industry names, and you can figure them out.

I don't know if I'm stating the obvious here, but you can open the town dialogue box in the editor and click on the town name to change it (like trains etc in the game)

Hmm. Didn't know that. Haven't really played with the editor much due to lack of time.

You shouldn't feel like that - I only found out about renaming towns by accident when I was closing the dialogue box and wasn't very accurate with my clicking! And it doesn't seem to mention this in the manual (even the pdf one)

Anyway I'll download this and have a go 8)

REALLY!!!!????!!!! i found this really obvious, it's just the same as renaming a train, you can even rename a town while playing (i think :? ) much like TTD

Well, I don't think you can rename towns in the actual game for some reason, so that's why I didn't realise you could in the editor
