problems compiling msvc6 svn

Post by jaceknowak »

Hello. I have a problem.
I cannot compile the newest OpenTTD from SVN on MSVC6. I tried various revisions: 2078, 2101 and 2105.
When I open the .dsw file I get an empty workspace, without any projects.
When I open the .dsp project file a window pops up with a following message: "The makefile was not generated by Developer Studio. Continuing will create a new Developer Studio project to wrap this makefile." When I continue MSVC creates a new project with only one file "ttd.dsp" (no *.c or *.h files). When I try to build it I get "NMAKE : fatal error U1052: file 'ttd.mak' not found".

Compiling the release version 0.3.6 works fine - the workspace opens without problems and I can see a list of project files in the class browser and everything compiles fine.

I just want to play a game with a big map and I want to alter and extend polish town names lists used by town name generator, because with big maps I get a lot of very similar names. So compiling version 0.3.6 is useless for me because this version doesn't support big maps.

Best regards
Jacek
