Iron Horse 3.20.0 now on Bananas

3.20.0 Release

Not savegame compatible with Iron Horse releases before 3.20.0.

Changes
  • changed vehicle availability parameter settings
    • removed parameters for 'Simplified gameplay' and 'Wagons-only mode'
    • added parameters for 'Engines' and 'Wagons', both with the following options:
      • 'All', 'Simplified', 'None'
    • this allows players a little more control over which engines and wagons are available
  • rebalanced which engines are available for 'Simplified' setting, removing some but including others, to better cover core gameplay
  • 'Simplified' wagons no longer includes Sliding Wall Vans, Scrap Wagons or Mineral Wagons
  • added narrow gauge Rock Hoppers
  • adjusted appearance of narrow gauge gen 3 Hoppers and Aggregate Hoppers, to make them more distinct
Docs
  • update Code Reference page - mysys no longer relevant for Windows, and some other deps have changed
Fixes
  • added pluralised group names for wagon variant groups that were missing them
  • removed unintended curve speed bonus for ELRL (AC electrified rails)
  • fixed missing cargo sprites for narrow gauge Plate Wagons

Glad to see an unexpected upgrade to simplified and wagons-only mode. Even when I want different engines, it's hard to give up Horse wagons -- I use wagons-only mode fairly often with NARS.

3.21.0 Release

  • added parameter for 'Build some vehicles reversed'
    • Iron Horse randomly builds some vehicles as reversed, for example steam tank engines or diesel engines that have cabs at both ends
    • this feature can now be turned off with this parameter setting
  • changed cargo refits for Randomised Piece Goods Wagons to be more flexible

    • renamed Celt to Satyr
    • renamed Slug to Phoenix
    • Satyr, Growler and Phoenix are now all general purpose / express engines, instead of freight, with higher maximum speed
    • added livery for Satyr
  • all types of Covered Hopper can now refit to carbon black cargo
  • updated French and Czech language translations
Docs
  • added basic open graph card tags, so that shared docs links in services like Discord now have better previews
  • use 'image-rendering: pixelated' for docs images, to prevent some browsers anti-aliasing pixel art sprites

Playing the game for a bit.

Money balance is quite good. I do make money with FIRS4, but not enough to expand as fast as I can add tracks and trains :)
