Im using PBI and Brick too, what did you modify in the brick chain?

At the risk of going even more OT... I changed it so it didn't disable itself in Arctic and Tropic. Aside from the lack of graphics, because they all use temperate grass, it works normally.

You could try editing the grass out and replace it with magic blue, or something, Idk how you would make it sot hat it will just have grass, sand or snow under rather then grass all the time

That would mean copying the existing graphics and replacing the grass tile for them, which in turn means adding industry related action lines, something I haven't had any sucess with yet, so I make do with my quick fix.

If you can code, could you do me a favor, could you please code the sprites that packer made a while back , I would love to play with a GP40 or 35 or a SD38, even if they might not have sounds for now

Have a little patience? I only just figured out how to replace one train with another (Which of course in OpenTTD, with the engine pool active, just means another one added to the list)
I'm still working on how to actually make that train different.
Which is why industries are a bit beyond me right now, I can figure out how to change the climate availability, when I find the line for it, but that's about it.
I'm working on it though.

Well if you know how to do that can you at least try doing those sprites?

Alright, I'll have a look. Don't expect them to be unique or anything yet, they'll just be basic sprite replacements unless I feel adventurous and start trying to figure out some new Actions.

Yeah, i dont mind if they only replace TTD locos and wagons, just as long as they're aligned and dont over or under lap the wagons.

Guys, if you want to have back-and-forth one line conversations about something only tangentially related, can you take it out of the thread?

Sorry Pikkabird. I didn't exactly intend to usurp your thread.
On a related topic - to both - if I code those engines, however basically they turn out, would that be useful in some way for you Pikkabird? Or would you prefer to code them yourself?

Okay, I'm hitting a snag with the passenger cars. It takes a LONG time to re-skin them for the plaer liveries. If I copy the window patterns onto a "blank" car it goes by much faster.

So which group is best?

The cars on the top are reskinned. The middle are blank sides, and the bottom are blank sides and roofs. IMO, the ones on the bottom look pretty good and they take a lot less time to do.

And before I waste a bunch of time for nothing, is it even possible to code the passenger and mail cars to look different for each player? Like in the picture, Player 1 gets the left most cars, Player 2 gets the middle, and player 3 gets the right. I haven't decided what player 4 would get, right now I'm leaving them at default.

1) I like the cars you did, the right ones look like VIA LRC Passenger Cars. I think the top left and middle are good but the right bottem would look good, that way the older coachs look, old and a bit dirty, and the newer one looks new, modern, and clean.

2) Its possible, theres a parameter to refit the livery to a few styles so I think it might be possible to have a livery refit for cars.

While Im here, I would like to ask, packer, can you please do the MPI MP40PH-3C (the 36 Versino looks the same, but the 40 version has more hp) since theres no more Passenger Locomotives (excluding multiunits like the Acela and Commuters) After the Genesis (GE P42)

So the ones on the bottom look a bit cleaner than the others?

About the MP40PH-3C, I would like to finish some other stuff before I try that one..

Use the top row for the first 2 coachs, then the bottem sprite for the right passenger coach

Alright, I hope you do that MP40PH though, its a decent Commuter train that can do 90 MPH and hual up to 12 Bombardier Octagon Style Coaches

I may have came up with something for Player 4's passenger cars that looks good. Definately a lot easier than re-drawing all of the cab unit sprites.

I got most of players 1-3s stuff done except for valuables refits and mail cars with markers. If I coulf use that stuff for P4s, then it'd be easy to draw, since it's really parts of P3s and P1s put together. (trucks and roofs off of P1s, main body of P3)

Hi, I have simple question.
I know it is possible to change for example all hopper cars to gondolas for all trains (and I know how to do it too) when they will visit depot next time, but I don't know how to change wagons to its newer versions (for example early slow cabooses for newer, faster), because they remain in version they were built. Is it possible? (OpenTTD 0.7.3)

You have to do it manually - send the train to depot and replace the wagon. I'm guessing cabooses always have the same vehicle ID in the game, but use different graphics and speed etc depending on the year. If ID is the same, upgrade won't work. There are good reasons for using the same ID.

One workaround is to put the trains with old wagons in a group, then use upgrade to change the cabooses to some other wagon, then upgrade again to change them back to (newer) cabooses.

I would like to modify (for themselves) NARS set. Can I ask for permission and the source code for this?
