Re: Minecraft
It's just becoming too RPG-ish and unoriginal. I wouldn't mind dragons if they weren't actually dragons (I didn't mind ghasts when they were implemented). Simply and vulgar, dragunz, alcemy and megic, hurr durr.
I don't mind game getting too complex - but theme change hurts a lot.

Re: Minecraft
Notch has always stated that he wanted to add the 'game' to minecraft. And he is going the right way IMHO.
Re: Minecraft
Minecraft 1.9.4 is out, adds enchantments and spells. This is brilliant.

i wish people wouldn't keep calling it that - it's not 1.9.4, it's 1.9 prerelease4 - 1.9 hasn't even been released yet!lobster wrote:Minecraft 1.9.4...

To be honest, I don't give a rat's ass what people call it. 1.9.4 is easy, I've seen Jeb use this name himself, so use whatever you wish but stop whining - I, for one, couldn't care less.Lord Aro wrote:i wish people wouldn't keep calling it that - it's not 1.9.4, it's 1.9 prerelease4 - 1.9 hasn't even been released yet!
I think they can become quite cool, depending on what they do with them. They look great, and I think there should be dragons outside the End as well, perhaps even in the Nether too. Anyway, the footage so far is quite promising if you'd ask me.Drury wrote:And dragons.

Calm down Drury.
At the end of the day, it's a commercial game and he can do whatever he wants to it
Personally, i don't like the NPC [+villages], or exp, or enchanting, but, i can ignore it.
Just like what that slightly strange person who created the 'better-than-wolves' mod should have done, just ignore the features you don't like, don't complain about them

Re: Minecraft
Hi,
I played a Minecraft (Version 1.7.3) but when I heard that 1.8 was released I try, but when I launched a world on the 1.8, I always got a black screen and I unfortunately lost the 1.7.3, while some are pro Minecraft may be could help me if he wants to help me solve this problem (thanks in advance) I'm sure that some person on this issue, I yet tried everything I version of Java the most recent, I disabled the villages, without success that black screen at launch of a world.
Sincerely, Digital

Thank you for your help, but it would be great if he would like a patch of anti black screen, because I want to play a 1.8.1.

Re: Minecraft
Are you trying to open a world made with 1.7 or are you making a new world?
Also you could try waiting a minute or two to see if it works. For me it sometimes takes a little longer to open.

Re: Minecraft
No, not with the 1.7, 1.7 With everything works, but I changed my version 1.8, in 1.8 and the launch of a world gives me a black screen, and after Java is a trick that appears and disappears in seconds no matter what, I have no time to see what it is, it is related to the 1.8.1 and not 1.7mc.crab wrote:Are you trying to open a world made with 1.7 or are you making a new world?

So to summarize: In have Minecraft version 1.8.1 (the latest) and when I run a world that gives me a black screen, though I expect any minutes anything, the screen remains black I have made several attempted but nothing.I've reduced the quality graphics ect .... at least I disable structure (village, dungeon ...), and I use the graphics core.

Re: Minecraft
Did you have any mods in 1.7? In your minecraft folder, if there is a folder called mods try deleting it.
You can also try forcing Minecraft to re download the jar file to see if it solves the problem.

Re: Minecraft
You're damn right there. I'm not playing that mod - awesome it may be - simply because of it's name and intent. I've been getting quite fed up with people nagging about this game, which is simply a result of the dev being open about it. If Bethesda or one of those other big devs develop a game it's being developed the way they think is right, despite any criticism. Mojang chose to open up twitter canals, release a s*** of inbetween versions and actually ask for opinions. What did they get? The entire internet - and I'm looking at /v/ specifically when I say this - has been bitching how Notch does nothing except go on vacation and being fat. I'm quite surprised they're still about, I'm unsure if I could ignore this kind of thing myself.Lord Aro wrote:Just like what that slightly strange person who created the 'better-than-wolves' mod should have done, just ignore the features you don't like, don't complain about them
Anyway, pulling the bitching around to a halt, I've been playing a lot today and man I'm looking forward to the new pre-release. The idea of bugfixing and optimizing might just make me even more excited. Ever got on a boat or minecart in SMP? You know what I'm excited about, as soon as those work as intended it's gonna be amazing.

Re: Minecraft
the problem is it looks like their are focusing in fixing bugs introduced in latest pre-releases (1.9 pre 1/2/3/4/5)
while there are still many bugs and code to optimize since the very beginning (like poor network code that sends a lot of small data packets instead of cache it into bigger and sent them less often - slow networks aren't processing the amount of packets fast enough and gets disconnected from server) ....
anyway, 1.9 pre release 5 was (pre) released today, just fixes to 1.9 pre-releases stuff
