2152? Wow. It's time for more technology... The people are disappointed we don't have warp drive yet, so let's get a move on
Updates in Space:
BREAKING NEWS!!!
UNITED EARTH SPACE PROBE AGENCY (UESPA) FOUNDED!!!!
This is a space agency that all other nations are welcome to join and develop spaceflight and exploration!
The new space telescope in the Earth-Moon L2 point is now operational.
There is now a large spaceport in the Earth-Moon L1 point. Its main hangar currently houses the experimental nuclear-pulse powered spacecraft (proposed name: UES Pioneer), and the station also contains a large ring array to simulate gravity for the space hotel on board. A fleet of upgraded CosmoShuttles take passengers and cargo between the Moonbase and various space stations, including the low-orbit "OrbitHub" station, the L1 "LunarHub" station and the L2 "Discovery" station with the telescope.
A special solar satellite has been built directly in the orbit of the Sun, which is intended to power large electrostatic ion-drive spacecraft such as the unmanned high speed probes that are being planned to be sent to the moons of Jupiter and other outer planets and dwarf planets.
Proposed project: A maglev-powered launch track on the Moon to make takeoffs of spaceships from the Moon more efficient and faster. Currently large amounts of fuel have to be transported to the Moon regularly.
Proposed Project: A Space Elevator (for this we need to tow an asteroid, for which we need a better stardrive, for which we need fusion power)
A breakdown on the current space propulsion methods:
Electrostatic Ion Drive: Requires a lot of energy, needs to use solar satellite array and is only good at accelerating in straight lines. Good speed.
Nuclear Pulse Drive: Uses nuclear explosions to propel the ship forward. Potentially very fast, but dangerous and fuel-consuming.
Chemical Booster: Standard rocket-like propulsion, used on CosmoShuttles, Makuse-MX and other standard local spacecraft.
Oh, and that "asteroid" must actually be our L1 space station, LunarHub. It is constantly growing, as it regularly receives a shipment of construction modules aboard a MX-5000.
MAP UNLOCKED:
@Bucketania, CSA, Geoduckia and New Britannia: We are willing to fund and build two new intercontinental high speed rail corridors. Together they would connect Asia and Europe with Africa without having to go through Britannia. The railways would have a top speed of 400 km/h and would have high speed container-freights and passenger trains running along them. All of the infrastructure costs will be paid for by the USAf, and it will provide clean, fast and efficient transport that will boost all of our economies greatly.
Corridor 1: London to Sahara - this corridor involves a tunnel under the Gibraltar Strait. Most of the line is through the CSA.
Corridor 2: East Africa to Asia - this corridor connects Africa (and by extension Europe) with Geoduckia and Fordtopia. An extension connecting Pottsania to CSA is also proposed. This includes three tunnels under the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf; again all expenses will be paid for by the USAf.
Also, shown extensions on Moon Base.
COMING SOON: Revamped Space section on the map, including orbits and other planets.
