There would be a parameter in beta 5 (will come out soon) to void closing of serviced industries. Every industry reports the closure plans in 24 months, so you have enough time to provide a single truck service to save it with that parameter set to on.

it should produce some small amounts. If you have no cargo produced, please provide a savegame for clean trunk that demonstrates the problem.

done in beta 5. In beta 5 you should provide main material as a must and a secondary one will increase production.

I fixed my one... turned out to be a problem with the patch I'd applied.
Out of curiosity, any idea when beta 5 is expected?

Thanks for answering George.

I changed my strategy. I will start with no industry and buy or prospect what i need. Id like to know when beta5 will go out.
Another question : will i have problem if i use Pikka industries with yours (brick chain, basic, like clay, gravel) ?

I know the maximum of industries is 32. What could happen if i go beyond this limitation ?

Thanks so much again.

There exists no industry-related limit with a value of 32 in either TTDPatch or OpenTTD, unless you call cargos industry-related.
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

The limit of industry types is 37 in Patch and 64 (IIRC) in Open. If you exceed these limits, the host will not be able to load your GRF(s).

Dalestan is correct.
Open can handle 64 different types of industries.
Note that i have not tested the system up to that limit, mainly because of lack of time and lack of grfs.
I'd say that 51 is quite a nice number :)
What grfs did you used?
If you are not ready to work a bit for your ideas, it means they don't count much for you.
OpenTTD and Realism? Well... Here are a few thoughs on the matter.

I use ESC vector industry ( 6 types + town) and Pikka basic and brick chain. Few ones (iron mine, coal mine, and few others) are duplicated but they dont necessarily need same material. Im gonna test them all on a single game.

The only thing I don't like is the sand mine, it just looks out of place compared to the others. Too photo-realistic looking.

You should contact PaulC and PikkaBird about these sets

... I like the sand mine! Please don't change it. It just needs some tweaks.

Hi George

I've been playing another game for some time where a modder decided to withdraw all his mods due to the comunity's constant pestering and negative comments. Therefore, I would like to thank you very much for the work you've done with the ECS vectors. I'm still playing them today and enjoying it so much and I'm regularly checking for updates :) It has given so much extra to the game.

Also, your interest in helping users with problems is really noteworthy and highly appreciated by all I'm sure.

So, thank you very much.

Best regards,

Dont mix ECS and Pikka GRF. Strange things may happen with industries ...
