George send me a building to edit, and it was (is) fun to do.
My only problem is that deam steamplume from my cokesplant, even if this plant is use less because of the lack of industrial slots, i want to be able to make that. After its completion i can work on a upgrade of TTRS, something that is realy needed.
Best regards

Agreed, nearly eleven or twelve years later, and I'm still playing this damn game. I started playing TTO and the TTD demo (ARGH! BUSES! ARGH! TOYLAND!) _to death_ in late 1996, now it's mid 2008!!! Mind boggling!
This game has almost become one of the permanant fixtures of my life .
Hi I do not know, but I could imagine that a lot of players would celebrate X-Mas and Easter together if we could use the graphics that zimmlock createdt for the TIRS, such as the powerplants, the factories and the other masterpieces in a way like a set or a grf. At least maybe to replace the existing facilities. The czech group made two lovely grf's to replace the iron ore mine and the coal mine.Something similar for the facttory could be possible, isn't it? Is anybody able to find out a way to solve this? George uses the factory and the power plant in the ECS already, and bornacorn made a new factory once. Anyone outtehre who can help?
Hi there. I assume this is the right thread to ask about TTRS, so I'll try:
I opened OpenTTD, loaded up a game and wanted to see the new buildings. So I added the .grf, apply, yes, etc. ... but all that changed was the roads. What gives?
You should have added the GRF before starting the game. When you get into a new game, OTTD has already generated all town buildings, so the new ones didn't get a chance to appear. If you keep playing, the new buildings will gradually start to appear as towns start replacing their buildings, but it may take a while. Plus, you won't get the special "historical" buildings, like the cathedral, because those can only be generated during the initial town generation.
[edit] Oops, I skimmed over your post a bit too fast. You already have a savegame that you want to continue with TTRS added. In this case, you should wait it out. I've just tried the parameter that would force TTRS to replace all old buildings, but it seems not to work on my version of OTTD...

Octopuss, you should give us a tiny more details.
Like the version of OTTD you are using.
If you are not ready to work a bit for your ideas, it means they don't count much for you.
OpenTTD and Realism? Well... Here are a few thoughs on the matter. He he he he

I understand now... I kinda wanted to have the option to switch between old and new buildings based on actual taste
Long have I been thinking what grf set should I try and this is the winner (along with the new planes from Pikka). But under these conditions I guess I will stick to the original graphics... which, on the other hand, is still awesome
When George says replace, he means immediate replacement of old buildings with the new ones. You can do that in TTDPatch if you give a parameter to TTRS3.GRF, but the same parameter doesn't seem to work with OTTD. I guess OTTD implements building overrides differently, but belugas knows for sure, he wrote that code.

Actually, I think that's my fault, and it was just something I forgot to implement. I haven't got much time available to fix it at the moment though.
I'm using OTTD 0.6.3, and the buildings in TTRS v3 work just fine, but the roads stay the same. The bus stops and truck stops change (unless they're drive through) as do the bridges. I've tried it with no parameters and with explicitly setting the default parameters (1 0 2) and I got the same results both ways.

Yeah, I did, but I couldn't find anything relating to my situation.

I don't believe you, there is a section about parameter switches in the manual. And parameters even work in OpenTTD. Enjoy a read through this, I hope it helps.

I looked at the parameters, and I set parameter #3 to 2 (Use TTRS-v3 roads and road bridge graphics) Didn't do anything. I'll try setting it to 1, maybe, see if that does anything.
