I wonder if there is a way of getting in touch with Microprose and <ahem
asking for a copy of the manual as yours has <ahem> been eaten by the
dog?
They would probably ask you for your serial number and proof of
registration. One of the (few) benefits of registration is that if your
disk / manual genuinely *is* eaten by the dog you can get a replacement.
Ok...I'm registered....Can I get one?
I never recieved a note back.....I did it by post...
Serves me right I suppose..B-(
I'll have to send them a note.

If I get a reply from them I'll post it.

Well, for one thing, that's illegal to do. But nobody really cares.

I COULD put it up for you... but I can't. The ZIP file of it was 24 M.
24Mb??? I zipped it (without savegames) and it's not even 8Mb!!!
My webspace-provider only accepts 2Mb...
Fortunecity only accepts 20, Geocities 10, and Xoom has unlimited but it's
against the TOS to upload illegal items...

Do you have ICQ? I may be able to send it to you...

Thanks for the offer, but don't waste your time!

There are already several comprehensive and pretty accurate lists
floating around the ether

<http://members.aol.com/hbkgriff/real.htm>

are not bad. I'm pretty sure there were some others, too.

I believe you need the full 24 MB (the WHOLE TTD CD!!) to play without the
cd, which you would need to download it therefor. 8 MB is the amount the
installer installs but it uses the cd..

You should get XOOM then. They have unlimited service...just remember to
change the extension...of the .zip file to some odd extension. Oh yeah, ONE
IMPORTANT THING is to NOT give them your "real" address, they are the worth
"Junk-mail" company I have ever seen.

--Spider--

P.S. Maybe I'll upload TTD to my xoom account sometime...if anybody really
wants it badly and can't buy it I will.

I remember when i bought that PC Gamer issue which I first saw the amazing
TTO demo. It sucked though, and made me mad. You could only build trains,
when you watched the computer build everything else around you. No
time-limit I believe, and another weird thing was, in the start menu before
you play, you could right-click on the screen and go look around the map,
with the AI building things like monorail. I wish I woulda kept that cd.
Anyways, thats how I got hooked...

How many demos of TT have there been?!?

I remember that one, but it wasn't right-clicking to move around the screen,
you used the arrow keys. And it had a time limit.

I have played at LEAST 3 different demo versions.

I would very much hope so. In the back page of my manual, I've got an
official proof of purchase. If you have that, then you are on firm
ground.

If Microprose (or anybody else) won't replace a genuinely bought item at
a reasonable price, then they're a crap firm. Even Microsoft will (my
Windows95 CD got scratched and they replaced it for a fiver, which I
don't think is unreasonable).

If I get a reply from them I'll post it.
I'd be interested to see how you got on. I disapprove of piracy, but
the other side of the coin is that software houses should look after
their honest customers!

Well, for TTO AND TTD..... there's the PC Gamer one for TTO (not sure if PC
Gamer featured a TTD demo as well), (was their an Internet TTO demo? or was
it the same as the PC Gamer one?) the Internet TTD one where you have a
time-limit, and somebody said something about there being a TTD demo
included with TTO + WE(world editor). Thats 3. Any ones I'm forgeting?

I started a research about that a few weeks ago, and I have lists, from
several persons posted here, with probable real vehicle names.
This means I would like to compare your list with some information I'm going
to get from NedTrain Reverbishment & Overall (formeerly known as Nederlandse
Spoorwegen Materieel or NSM)
